Updates Announced By FHA Home Loan Modification Program

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development recently announced the changes in the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loan modification plan to ensure steadiness with Obama Administration’s Home Affordable Obama Loan Modification Program. Effective from August 15, 2009, the FHA Loan Modification borrowers will avail the loan at reduced monthly payments, even with the current loan providing company.

The FHA can qualify the borrowers, already insured for FHA, an opportunity to reduce the monthly mortgage payment, according to the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009 law. According to FHA, all the lending institutes should implement the guidelines changes by August 15, 2009. As per the partial claim through The Federal Housing Administration, the lender allows advance funds on the borrower’s name, to restore delinquent loan up to 12 months. This will permit the HUD’s Home Loan Modification Program to reduce the payments and make them affordable. The question is how would this be done? Through partial claim, the existing mortgage loan will be deduced to 30% of the principal amount that is unpaid.

The Federal Housing Administration has also in store for the lenders. For every loan modification companies under this scheme, the loan providing servicer will be given incentive by FHA. The Federal Housing Administration Home Affordable Modification Program distributed Mortgagee Letter with detailed information regarding the requirements for the same. Obama’s Administration has made efforts to with the aim to stabilize the home owners to continue residing in their homes. This will help to avoid foreclosures.

According to the Federal Housing Administration policy implemented, the home owners can relax. Home owners with current FHA loan facing difficulties in making their monthly payments can approach their lenders.
